This article is about a character from Murder House. This should not be confused with Jack from Babysitter Bloodbath.
Janitor Jack is a minor character in Murder House.
Description[]
Appearance[]
Jack is an adult Caucasian man with short brown hair and a goatee. His work attire consists of a navy blue utility jumpsuit, yellow rubber gloves, and brown shoes. He is usually seen carrying a mop.
History[]
Almost nothing is known about Janitor Jack, besides the fact that he is a night-shift cleaner at an unnamed shopping mall in Monroe, Michigan.
Murder House[]
During Easter season in 1985, Jack was sweeping the floor of an office in the nightly hours when a boy named Justin entered and asked for help, stating that he had got locked in after falling asleep before closing times and warns him that "the Easter Bunny has gone crazy", begging him to call the police. Though doubting his words, Jack decides to play it safe and investigate the claim, promising to look for a phone while Justin holds out in the staff room. He then locks the office door and exits into the hallway. The power goes out seconds later, with the Easter Ripper making his way into the office shortly after to capture Justin. Janitor Jack's status is left uncertain, though given how there is no sound of the Easter Ripper breaking down the door, it's probable that Jack was slain by the Ripper and pilfered of his keys.
Should Justin be captured by the Easter Ripper before reaching the staff room, Janitor Jack's status is unknown. It is likely that he would be left alive, however, since Jack would almost certainly be left unaware of the Easter Ripper's presence.
Quotes[]
- "Whoa, calm down. How did you get in here?"
- "Hold on. There's no phone in here anyways. Let me go check it out. You wait here."
- "I'll take care of him. You'll be safe here. I'll lock the door."
Trivia[]
- Janitor Jack was voiced by Youtuber Jacksepticeye in a cameo.
- During his Let's Play of Murder House, Seán acknowledged that he had misread the his second line, saying "There's a phone in here", instead of "There's no phone in here anyways", as it says in the subtitles. He only noticed his mistake during gameplay and proceeded to record an informal second take of him reading the dialogue correctly in the same video.
- Jack and the Photographer are the only prologue-exclusive characters.
- Janitor Jack, along with the Dying Man in Stay Out of the House, is one of few characters whose appearance is entirely determinant.
- His character model appears to a retextured version of the Driller Killer from Power Drill Massacre, judging by the boiler suit, tall figure, and smoothed off head.
