Deadly Night is a 2022 survival horror game developed by Cubyte Games and published by Torture Star Video. The full game was released on Steam and Itch.io on September 2, 2022.[1][2]
The game was originally slated for August 25th release,[3] but due to Steam flagging the game as pornography for its content may be illegal for 16 countries, it was delayed to September 2nd for extra review time.[4]
The original censored version remains on Steam, while the uncensored edition is exclusively on Itch.io.[5]
Synopsis[]
You arrive at a small roadside motel overnight. You are tired and the bus won't arrive until morning, so you ask for a room to sleep. The motel owner doesn't seem like a normal person, his questions make you feel uncomfortable. Later you discover something disturbing there, but when you think you know what is going on, something changes everything...
BUT...
Do you think the Motel was a nightmare? Hell no, it was just the beginning. The murderer's sweet home is waiting for you... Try to get out of there or die.
Gameplay[]
The Motel[]
The game starts with character Carol driving in a car at late night with Susan. When Susan asks her what she's doing this late, Carol explains to her that her ex boyfriend left her after she found out that he cheated on her. After a conversation they arrive at a motel and Carol gets off while Susan drives away. Carol enters the reception and is greeted by the owner Mr. Shiny, who asks her if she is alone and other weird questions, such as is she here to have sex. Disgusted by his questions, she tells him to mind his own business and asks for a room. He gives her a room key and she goes to her room, takes a shower and goes to bed. She suddenly wakes up to find the whole room is on fire and she escapes through the broken window. She appears in a dark corridor with baby crying at the end. She wakes up and realizes it was just a nightmare. After hearing some noise, she examines the room and moves window in the bathroom, revealing a video camera without the cassette. Knowing it was the motel owner who set it up, she goes to confront him. At the reception she calls 911 and is told by the operator that they will send a patrol car. Carol goes in the back room and finds the video tape of her taking a shower, among other sex tapes. Mr. Shiny suddenly enters the room and is shocked to see her. Carol insults him and threatens that she will call the police but Mr. Shiny locks her in the room. Carol escapes through the window, walks by the suspicious van and goes back to her room only to find Mr. Shiny's disemboweled corpse in the bathroom. Shocked by the scene, she takes her things and runs out of the motel into the empty road. The killer suddenly appears, runs after her and catches her. He then drags her to his van and drives away.
House[]
Hours later, Carol wakes up tied in the basement. She frees herself and searches the basement when suddenly the killer enters the basement. Carol hides and manages to sneak past the killer and searches the whole house. She unlocks the gates on the well and with no other option she jumps in and injures herself. The killer finds her and drags her to a room and places her on a table.
The game switches to character Susan, whose car tire got flat. Susan explores the area in hopes of finding help and stumbles across the killer's house. Susan knocks on the doors when she hears screams coming from the barricaded well. Susan removes the barricades and climbs down the well using a ladder. She explores the dark corridors, looking for the source of screams and finds Carol whom she instantly recognizes. Carol wakes up and tells Susan everything that happened to her.
Ending 1[]
Susan and Carol exit the well and using the van keys Carol found in the house, they get in the killer's van but it won't start.
If players didn't call 911 at the motel, Susan and Carol will drive away in the van and credits will soon roll.
911[]
(To achieve the 911 chapter, players have to call 911 at the motel)
A police officer arrives at the gas station and finds that all the staff have been murdered. Because his radio is under repair, and is unable to call for backup, he drives to a motel and finds a similar murder scene. As officer drives away from the motel he comes across Susan's car. He stops by, exits his car and searches the area when he is suddenly attacked by the killer. Officer manages to evade the killer and shoots multiple times until the killer drops on the ground, presumably dead. Officer searches the killer's property and finds Susan and Carol. Many hours later, Carol is at the hospital with the officer and Susan accompanying her and asking her some questions. On TV a news reporter talks about the most recent murder incidents and that the killer's body was not found.
Ending 2[]
(This ending will be triggered if the players didn't find the van keys)
Susan and Carol try to escape, but the killer appears and kills them both and leaves their bodies. A police officer arrives at the killer's property when he is suddenly attacked by the killer. Officer manages to evade the killer and shoots him dead. Officer examines the killer's body when suddenly the whole sky turns red and a large red eyeball appears in the sky.
Flashbacks[]
In the flashbacks, it was revealed that Carol, since she was very young, was forced by her mom to do explicit things with predators she had invited. Not wanting to do what her mother forced her to do because of money, Carol set the house on fire which killed her mother, but her younger brother Dylan suffered burns and brain damage. Carol and Dylan were picked up by social services and put under Mr. Miller's wing. A focus on Dylan showed the boy wearing a wooden mask with no distinctive features. Carol, feeling overwhelmed by guilt started having the same nightmares.
